For every Bride her wedding gown is one of the most important aspects of the big day. Choosing the perfect wedding dress can take a great deal of time and effort and it is a huge relief when the decision is finally made. A huge relief, that is, unless the much loved gown fails to arrive in time for the wedding. What do you do then?
One unfortunate bride suffered just this fate in 2009. A series of disasters had looked set to ruin bride Kelli Lane’s big day and the last straw was her gown failing to show up. She had already been forced to change her venue and face the fact that her treasured hairdresser could not help out on her wedding day. Now there was no dress. She then made the unusual decision to get married in her pajamas and her celebrant turned up in a bathrobe! Seattle will never be the again!
I’ve heard of people featuring women’s bathrobes as gifts for their attendants and of brides lounging around in luxury bath robes when they are getting ready. Wearing women’s bathrobes to the actual wedding is a new one on me though! This could easily start a new trend. The next thing will be ultimate women’s bathrobes as wedding dresses! Thinking about this there could be some benefits to wearing a robe. They are very comfortable and you wouldn’t have to worry about your gown not fitting because you have put on weight! They are available in white too like the gorgeous women’s white zig zag weave robe pictured here. Is it the Ideal wedding dress? Probably not, but it is certainly perfect for relaxing in your bridal suite beforehand and it is always nice to have back-up!
As for Kelli Lane, well she loved her wedding and was quite happy with the way it turned out after all the problems in the build-up. If you want a great bathrobe for your big day then the female’s bathrobe with collar and gold trim shown here is a fabulous choice but trust me you will look better in a wedding dress at the church!
